Fair Trade Certification
Is the seal that connects producers in the South with consumers in the North, giving consumers the guarantee to support with their purchase the development of producers in the South. It implies paying a fair price for the product plus a premium for social purposes for the producers; the prohibition of child labour; stable commercial relations, which allows the development of producers; a democratic and equal organization of producers and respect for the environment and promotion of organic farming.
Bio Certification
Is the standard that reflects that biologic production (also called organic or ecological) is carried out according to a method of agricultural production that respects the environment. A method based on cultivation practices in tune with natural cycles, which exclude the use of genetically modified organisms and aim to restrict the use of synthetic chemicals.
Global G.A.P. Certification
This is the worldwide standard for good agricultural practice. It implies proper hygiene and respect for workers in the field and in the warehouse.
Global G.A.P. GRASP Certification
This is an extension of the Global G.A.P. standard. It implies that workers are well cared for in terms of health standards, reasonable minimum wage and non-discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion.
Rainforest Alliance Certification
This is a standard that ensures biodiversity and the maintenance of plant balance, which is achieved in the case of bananas by alternating or combining their cultivation with that of other products.
IFS Broker (Initiative Food Safety)
Is the certification that allows products to be sold in supermarkets. It is applicable to food importers and checks whether the appropriate measures have been implemented in their processes in order to comply with the appropriate safety and quality requirements and contractual legal requirements.
